- Indication for surgical intervention in lipedema: 'Surgical procedures are indicated if, despite thorough conservative treatment, symptoms persist, or if there is progression of clinical findings and/or symptoms.'
- BDD screening: 'Pre-operative screening of BDD patients is vital so that efficient psychiatric treatment can be initiated and patients are not subjected to surgical interventions that may be ineffective or even harmful.'

- Dermal filler injections for facial lipodystrophy syndrome due to antiretroviral therapy (HCPCS G0429) - covered when selection criteria are met.
