Coverage for non-invasive cerebrovascular arterial studies is allowed when reasonable and necessary per Novitas LCD L35397; consult that LCD and NCCI edits for specific clinical and frequency criteria. Post-interventional duplex studies are generally limited in scope and should be billed as unilateral/limited studies (use modifier -52 for reduced service), avoid modifier -50/-LT/-RT, and do not bill listed CPT combinations together (e.g., do not bill 93886/93892/93893/93896/93897/93898 with 93888).
