Billing and Coding: CPT Code 97755 - Assistive Technology Assessment

CPT 97755 covers skilled assistive technology assessments by qualified occupational or physical therapists for patients (notably those who have lost limb function) to restore/augment/compensate function, optimize tasks, or improve accessibility. The service must be direct 1-on-1, billed per 15-minute unit, accompanied by a written report documenting nature, complexity and component testing, and should not be used when another CPT code more appropriately describes the service.
