Billing and Coding: MolDX: HTTLPR Gene Testing

HTTLPR (serotonin transporter) genotyping is statutorily excluded and not covered effective 2013-06-26. Claims for HTTLPR testing should be submitted with CPT 81479; an ABN is not required (use GX for voluntary ABN or GY to indicate an ABN on file) and the DEX Z-Code must be entered adjacent to the CPT code in the specified Part A/Part B claim fields.
