CPT 97610 (low frequency, non-contact, non-thermal ultrasound/MIST therapy) is described as a wound care modality delivering continuous low frequency ultrasound to the wound bed. Payment for CPT 97610 is bundled and not separately reimbursable when provided to the same wound on the same service as active wound care management or debridement codes 97597, 97598, 97602, 97605, or 97606.
