Serum or other body fluid testing for Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is not considered reasonable and necessary for any indication and is denied per LCD L37022; claims for CPT 82542 will be denied. Providers may voluntarily issue an ABN and append modifier GX when issuing an ABN; submit CPT 82542 on claims to receive the denial.
