Billing and Coding: Respiratory Therapy (Respiratory Care)

Therapeutic procedures primarily intended to treat respiratory impairments should be billed with HCPCS codes G0237–G0239. CPT codes 97000–97799 are not billable for respiratory care unless performed by physical or occupational therapists and documented to meet the applicable PT/OT coverage requirements; follow LCD L34430 for additional guidance.
