Billing and Coding: Outpatient Speech Language Pathology

Outpatient speech-language pathology services are covered for treatment of speech, language, voice, communication, and auditory processing disorders using CPT 92507 for individual therapy and CPT 92508 for group therapy (2+ individuals). Speech-generating device selection/prescription is billed with CPT 92607/92608 and programming/modification with CPT 92609; re-evaluations should be documented and billed using the evaluation code since no separate re-evaluation CPT exists.
