Response to Comments: External Infusion Pumps – DL33794

This response states that the External Infusion Pumps LCD decisions will be grounded in current published clinical evidence to support optimal health outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDD). The DME MACs will apply CMS Program Integrity Manual Chapter 13 standards (peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, consensus statements, clinical guidelines) and refer to the final LCD (DL33794) for specific coverage, exclusions, and frequency limits.
