Policy Summary
Non-invasive urodynamic testing using a penile cuff (e.g., UroCuff) is intended to evaluate male lower urinary tract symptoms and to define functional bladder/urethral status to assist diagnosis or guide treatment. Non-invasive studies performed without catheterization should be reported with CPT 55899 (noting the device in the claim narrative), and comprehensive, legible medical record documentation (signs/symptoms, history, exam, urinalysis, device printouts, and provider signature) must support the billed codes and diagnoses.
