This billing and coding guidance specifies that PRP injections created with a kit should be billed with Category III code 0232T (any site), while PRP units transfused should be billed with HCPCS P9020 (one or more units). For PRP used to treat chronic non-healing wounds covered under CMS NCD 270.3, bill with HCPCS G0460/G0465; do not use code 86965 for PRP injections.
