Billing and Coding: Treatment of Varicose Veins of the Lower Extremities

This policy provides billing and coding guidance that supplements LCD L39121 for treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities. Sclerosant supplies are included in the sclerotherapy procedure code and must not be billed separately, and non-covered services must be submitted with the appropriate modifier per billing instructions.
