MolDX: Defining panel services in MolDX

MolDX defines a molecular 'panel' as any ordered test comprising more than one analyte that is marketed as a single service, yields a single result/report, is measured in parallel, or whose clinical value depends on multiple analytes performed together. Panels must be billed as a single service (use specific panel CPT when available; otherwise use appropriate NOC codes such as 81479, 81599, or 87999), and component unbundling or separate billing based on internal lab methods is not permitted.
