MolDX: Defining panel services in MolDX

MolDX defines a molecular 'panel' as any ordered service measuring more than one analyte when the analytes are marketed as a single service, produce a single report/result, are measured in parallel, or are jointly required to provide medical value. Single-analyte tests that independently suffice for patient management are not panels; multianalyte services must be billed as a single service and, if no specific panel code exists, billed with appropriate NOC codes (81479, 81599, or 87999) in accordance with NCCI guidance.
