Aetna covers early comprehensive educational, psychological, and medical assessments and evidence‑based educational remediation with appropriate psychological/medical treatment for learning disabilities/dyslexia, including ophthalmologic identification and correction of correctable ocular defects (with referral to the primary care physician to coordinate multidisciplinary care if no ocular defect is found). Aetna excludes as experimental/investigational visual/behavioral vision therapy, colored/tinted lenses or filters, music‑based interventions, non‑invasive brain stimulation (including tDCS), eye exercises, and other diagnostic/treatment approaches lacking established evidence.
