Hippotherapy

Hippotherapy (equine therapy) is considered experimental and investigational and therefore not covered for all indications — specifically listed exclusions include Alzheimer’s/dementia, anxiety, ADHD, autism, and other uses such as adjunctive treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The policy states effectiveness has not been established, so there are no approved coverage criteria or requirements.
