Aetna considers sensory integration therapy and auditory integration training experimental and investigational and does not cover them for communication, behavioral, emotional, learning disorders or any other indications; CPT 97533 is not covered for those indications. The therapies are deemed unproven and coverage is excluded for listed ICD‑10 codes (e.g., F43.20–F43.29).
