Crit-Line In-Line Monitor

Aetna considers the Crit-Line In-Line Monitor experimental/investigational and does not cover it for monitoring hematocrit or oxygen saturation because its effectiveness in preventing intra-dialytic morbid events, ischemia from intra-dialytic hypoxia, or detecting access recirculation has not been demonstrated. No specific CPT/HCPCS code exists for the device, and Aetna excludes its use for related dialysis diagnoses (e.g., ICD-10 N17–N19, N26.1/N26.9, Z49.31/Z49.32, Z99.2).
