Vestibular Autorotation Test (VAT)

Policy Summary
Aetna considers the vestibular autorotation test (VAT) experimental/investigational and does not cover it for diagnosing vestibular disorders, vestibular migraine, or any other indication. This exclusion is due to insufficient evidence of sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, and clinical utility and known limitations (head-sensor slippage at high frequencies, cervico-ocular reflex confounding, non-comparable test variants, and poor test-retest reliability).
