Aetna considers QSART, silastic sweat imprint, and thermoregulatory sweat testing medically necessary only as diagnostic tests for amyloid neuropathy, diabetic autonomic neuropathy, distal small‑fiber neuropathy, idiopathic neuropathy, and suspected autonomic disorder in Long‑COVID. All other autonomic testing (including sympathetic skin response, QDIRT, QPART, and automated device interpretations) is considered experimental/investigational and not covered for other indications (e.g., CFS/ME, concussion, Raynaud, TBI, GERD, hypertension, IBS, predicting foot ulcers, etc.).
