Surgical Dressings (Wound Care Supplies)
AETNA-CPB-0526
Aetna covers medically necessary, individually prescribed surgical wound care supplies (wound covers, fillers, secondary dressings, tapes, bandages, adhesive‑border covers, alginate/fiber gelling for moderately-to-highly exudative stage III/IV wounds, and defined composite dressings) but excludes non‑individualized surgical dressing kits and certain inappropriate combinations (e.g., specialty absorptive dressing placed over non‑impregnated gauze).
