Aetna covers diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccines per ACIP recommendations, including specified combination products (e.g., Pediarix, Pentacel, Kinrix, Quadracel) as acceptable alternatives for the indicated infant/child dose schedules. Coverage is limited by product-specific age and prior‑dose requirements—Pentacel only for 6 weeks to <5 years as a 4‑dose series (2, 4, 6, 15–18 months); Adacel for ages 10–64 and Boostrix for ≥10 years; Kinrix and Quadracel are restricted to specific 4–6‑year booster positions only when prior doses were with the listed vaccine brands.

"Tenivac (Td) indicated for prevention of tetanus and diphtheria in persons 7 years of age and older (booster every 10 years or as part of 3-shot series if unvaccinated)."
