Body Surface Potential Mapping

Aetna considers body surface potential mapping (BSPM) experimental and investigational and therefore not covered for all listed uses, specifically for evaluation of acute coronary syndromes (acute cardiac ischemia/myocardial infarction), atrial fibrillation, Brugada syndrome, and guidance of atrial fibrillation ablation. Key requirement: BSPM is excluded because its effectiveness has not been established.
