Aetna considers anterior segment OCT experimental and investigational and does not cover it for any indication—examples listed include assessment of Haab striae, ocular surface changes in graft‑versus‑host disease, glaucoma detection, diagnosis of Descemet membrane detachment during cataract surgery, and diagnosis/management of pigmentary dispersion syndrome. It is excluded because its clinical value has not been established and there are no covered indications.
