Aetna considers autologous whole‑blood injections, platelet‑poor and platelet‑rich plasma (PPP/PRP) injections, autologous platelet gel (including post‑TKA and for diabetic foot ulcers), and all adipose‑derived therapies (e.g., Habeo cell therapy, ADRC, autologous fat grafting, stromal vascular fraction + PRP) experimental/investigational and therefore not covered for the listed and all other indications. Key requirement: these procedures are excluded because their effectiveness has not been established and they are not considered medically necessary or supported as covered benefits.
