CG-MED-54 Strapping

This policy addresses strapping, the application of adhesive tape/plaster in overlapping strips to partially immobilize or limit motion. It is medically necessary for treatment of injuries, illness, or post‑operative care of the hand, finger, ankle, or foot, and not medically necessary for all other indications. Coverage is limited to true immobilizing/protective strapping and does not extend to other taping techniques (e.g., kinesio/elastic or corrective taping) or to body areas beyond those listed.
