CG-REHAB-03 Pulmonary Rehabilitation

This policy addresses pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) services, which include supervised exercise, education, and behavior-change interventions for individuals with chronic respiratory disease. PR is medically necessary when an individual is preparing for or recovering from surgical interventions such as lung transplantation, lung volume reduction surgery, or post‑operative thoracic/abdominal surgery; PR provided in the inpatient setting is not medically necessary when these criteria are not met.
