MED.00101 Physiologic Recording of Tremor using Accelerometer(s) and Gyroscope(s)

This policy addresses physiologic recording of tremor and movement disorders using wearable accelerometer and/or gyroscope motion analysis devices (e.g., Kinesia, Personal KinetiGraph), sometimes with EMG, typically billed under 95999. Anthem considers this testing investigational and not medically necessary for all applications—including evaluation of tremor and Parkinson’s-related symptoms—so it is not covered under any circumstances (no covered indications or exceptions).
