Cigna covers autonomic nerve function testing (sudomotor, cardiovagal, adrenergic, combined) only to evaluate or aid diagnosis of the specific autonomic disorders and ICD‑10‑CM codes listed (e.g., distal small fiber neuropathy, POTS, diabetic autonomic neuropathy, amyloid neuropathy, Sjögren’s, pure autonomic failure, multiple system atrophy, recurrent unexplained syncope); testing for any other diagnosis or using portable/automated conductance/moisture devices (e.g., ANX 3.0, Sudoscan, VitalScan, EZSCAN and similar) is excluded as experimental/unproven. Key requirements: documentation of history/physical and a covered diagnosis code, physician on‑site supervision and interpretation in a clinical autonomic lab, required physiologic recordings (ECG, beat‑to‑beat BP, R‑R intervals, Valsalva/tilt, QSART/TST/SSR as applicable), and use of the policy’s listed CPT/ICD codes.
