Custodial and Non-Skilled Services - (A012)

Custodial and other non‑skilled services (e.g., ADL assistance, supervision, routine feeding, ostomy/catheter care, medication administration) are generally excluded under most Cigna plans but may be covered in the home only if included in the Home Health Services benefit or when non‑skilled home health aide services are documented as being in direct support of skilled services. When covered, services must be part of the individualized plan of treatment and show a documented relationship to skilled care per the applicable benefit plan; CPT codes T1019 and T1020 are specifically not covered.

"When provided in the home, coverage for custodial, non-skilled services is subject to the terms, conditions and limitations of the applicable benefit plan's Home Health Services benefit."
