Cigna covers outpatient behavioral health coaching and peer support for mental health and/or substance use disorders (eligible when billed with CPT 0591T, 0592T or HCPCS H0038 and policy criteria are met); inpatient services aren’t specified and reimbursement is subject to deleted/non‑effective code rules and the member’s benefit plan and state regulations. Coverage requires documentation of diagnosis, that services were delivered outpatient by a licensed/certified coach or trained/certified peer acting within their state scope (and oversight where applicable), plus appropriate coding/time documentation.
