Spine Imaging Guidelines
EVICORE-SPINE_IMAGING_GUIDELINES
Spine Imaging Guidelines cover diagnostic spine imaging (MRI, CT, SPECT/nuclear studies, including post-myelography and post-discography CT) for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disorders such as neck/upper/lower back pain, radiculopathy/radiculitis, myelopathy, spinal stenosis, spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis, fractures, deformity, cancer-related and postoperative spinal conditions. Major limitations include that atypical presentations require physician review, advanced imaging generally requires an in-person initial evaluation plus a clinical re-evaluation after a documented trial of failed conservative therapy, and certain studies are restricted to specific post-procedural indications or sequencing (e.g., plain x-rays performed after the current episode).
