This policy covers Crisis Intervention – Follow Up: short-term, face‑to‑face crisis assessment, immediate de‑escalation/resolution, stabilization and referral services for Humana Healthy Horizons Medicaid‑enrolled members in Louisiana who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis (including those using substances during the crisis) and may involve contact with family or other collaterals. Services require prior authorization, must be medically necessary and recommended/determined by an LMHP or physician, occur within the context of an actual or potential psychiatric crisis, are rehabilitative/short‑term in scope, and non‑licensed staff must operate under continuous LMHP supervision/availability.
