Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) - MEDICAID - LOUISIANA
HUMANA-MULTI-SYSTEMIC-THERAPY-MST-LA-MEDICAID
Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) is covered as an intensive home-, family- and community-based behavioral treatment for youth. Coverage is limited to adolescents (typically 12–17) with significant externalizing behaviors (e.g., conduct disorder, ODD, chronic/violent juvenile offenses) who are at risk for or returning from out-of-home placement and for whom less intensive treatment has been ineffective or inappropriate and all specified clinical criteria are met; inclusion of substance-use cases is conditional on MST being more clinically appropriate than focused AOD treatment, and MST is not indicated for patients outside the age/behavioral criteria or for primary psychotic/suicidal presentations, isolated sexual offending, or moderate–severe autism-related social communication deficits.
"Target age: 12-17 years old."
