Personal Care Services (PCS) for Adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) - MEDICAID - LOUISIANA

This policy covers Personal Care Services (PCS) for adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) enrolled in Humana Healthy Horizons® in Louisiana, providing assistance/supervision with ADLs and IADLs to support independent living. Services are for medically stable members aged ≥21 who meet OAAS/My Choice eligibility and clinician recommendation, are billed in 15‑minute units with a standard maximum of 20 hours/week (temporary per diem up to 30 days; >20 hours requires MCO medical director approval), and exclude staff medication administration, duplicate PCS enrollment, or needs beyond the PCS scope.
