Stretta Procedure

Stretta is covered for adult patients (age ≥ 18) with chronic GERD symptoms (heartburn and/or regurgitation) for ≥ 6 months who are refractory to antisecretory therapy or who decline long-term medication or are unsuitable for surgery, as an endoluminal alternative to laparoscopic fundoplication. The procedure is not recommended for patients with severe esophagitis, hiatal hernia >2 cm, long-segment Barrett’s esophagus, dysphagia, autoimmune/collagen vascular disease, coagulation disorders, or patients under 18.
