Surface electrical stimulation for the treatment of dysphagia is not covered by this A/B MAC due to insufficient scientific or clinical evidence and is not considered reasonable and necessary under SSA §1862(a)(1)(A). Use as an adjunct to usual care is also not covered, and no documentation will render the service payable under this policy.
