Artificial Intelligence Enabled CT Based Quantitative Coronary Topography (AI-QCT)/Coronary Plaque Analysis (AI-CPA)

AI-QCT/AI-CPA using CCTA is covered when performed after a completed and interpreted CCTA for patients with acute or stable chest pain, no known CAD, who are CCTA-eligible and have CCTA findings of intermediate risk or CAD-RADS 1–3 with cardiac evaluation negative or inconclusive for ACS. The software must be FDA-cleared/approved and interpretations must be done by appropriately trained/credentialed physicians; the service is not covered for screening, routine surveillance, when CCTA is normal (CAD-RADS 0), when high-grade stenosis (CAD-RADS 4–5) is present, within 30 days post-MI, with contraindications to CCTA, or in conjunction with invasive coronary catheterization.
