MolDX: Genetic Testing for Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease
L39937
Heritable thoracic aortic disease genetic testing is covered for hereditary germline testing when the patient has aortic root or ascending aortic dilation/aneurysm/dissection plus at least one qualifying feature (presentation before age 60, syndromic features of Marfan/Loeys-Dietz/vascular Ehlers-Danlos, relevant first- or second-degree family history, or family history of unexplained early sudden death). Coverage also requires documentation that the patient was offered counseling, that the test includes the minimum ClinGen/ACC-AHA guideline-based genetic content (or is a single known familial variant), and that the test has completed a satisfactory MolDX Technical Assessment; tests conflicting with repeat germline testing policy L38274 or including potentially harmful additional content are not covered.
