MolDX: Genetic Testing for Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease
L39945
Heritable thoracic aortic disease (HTAD) genetic testing is covered for hereditary germline tests when the patient has an aortic root or ascending aortic dilation/aneurysm/dissection and at least one qualifying feature (age <60, syndromic features of Marfan/Loeys-Dietz/vascular Ehlers-Danlos, or qualifying family history). Coverage requires evidence that genetic counseling was offered, that the test includes ClinGen/ACC-AHA guideline-based minimum gene content (or a justified single familial-variant test), that the test has passed a MolDX Technical Assessment, and that testing does not conflict with repeat germline testing policy L38274.
"Patient has an aortic root or ascending aortic dilation, aneurysm, or dissection as defined by national consensus guidelines."
