MolDX: Genetic Testing for Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease
L39989
Genetic testing for heritable thoracic aortic disease is covered when the patient has aortic root or ascending aortic dilation/aneurysm/dissection and at least one additional criterion (presentation before age 60, syndromic features, relevant family history, or unexplained sudden death in a close relative), the patient was offered genetic counseling, the test includes guideline-supported validated gene content (or a single known familial variant), and the test has completed a MolDX Technical Assessment. Tests with unvalidated or unclear genetic content, or those that conflict with repeat germline testing policy L38429, are not covered.
"Patient has aortic root or ascending aortic dilation, aneurysm, or dissection as defined by national consensus guidelines."
