Policy Summary
Porcine (pig) skin dressings are covered when reasonable and necessary as occlusive dressings for burns, homograft donor sites, decubiti (pressure ulcers), and other ulcers. Gradient (Jobst) pressure dressings are covered only when used to reduce hypertrophic scarring or joint contractures that follow burn injury; all coverage is contingent on being reasonable and necessary for the individual patient.
