Gastrophotography is a covered procedure for diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders and is specifically supported when photographic records are required for consultation or follow-up. Coverage includes documentation and evaluation of lesions (such as gastric ulcers), facilitation of difficult case consultations, preoperative characterization, and assessment of postoperative gastric bleeding to inform reoperation decisions.
