Corset Used as Hernia Support

Medicare Part B covers a hernia support (corset or truss) when the item meets the definition of a brace under §1861(s)(9) of the Act. Items that do not qualify as a brace are not covered under this provision.

"A hernia support (corset or truss) that meets the medical definition of a brace is covered under Medicare Part B per §1861(s)(9) of the Act."
