Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scans - RETIRED

As of January 1, 2022, the umbrella NCD for PET scans was retired; Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) now determine coverage for oncologic and non-oncologic PET uses not addressed by a specific NCD under section 1862(a)(1)(A). Any PET indications that are included in other NCDs under section 220.6 remain unchanged and MACs may not alter those NCD-determined coverages.
