Urinary drainage (collection/retention) systems are covered as prosthetic devices when they replace bladder function for patients with permanent urinary incontinence. Single-use drainage systems are not considered to have separate medical-necessity advantage and are covered only under the same parameters as multi-use bags; the policy does not specify documentation, forms, or frequency limits.
