Policy Summary
Medicare excludes sublingual, intracutaneous, and subcutaneous provocative and neutralization testing and neutralization therapy for food allergies because the evidence does not demonstrate effectiveness. This exclusion has been in effect since October 31, 1988 and was published as a Final Notice in the Federal Register on September 29, 1988.
