Acupuncture for Fibromyalgia

CMS has determined that acupuncture is not reasonable and necessary for the treatment of fibromyalgia and remains nationally non-covered. This non-coverage applies to claims with dates of service on or after April 16, 2004, based on insufficient evidence of benefit.

"Acupuncture is nationally non-covered for the treatment of fibromyalgia and is not considered reasonable and necessary for this indication for claims with dates of service on or after 2004-04-16."
