Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services

CMS has not issued a national coverage determination for pulmonary rehabilitation and has delegated coverage decisions to local Medicare Administrative Contractors via LCDs or case-by-case adjudication under §1862(a)(1)(A). A comprehensive Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is not expressly a Medicare Part B benefit, though individual services (including respiratory therapy covered under CORF per 42 CFR 410.100(e)) may be covered under other Medicare benefit categories.
