Policy Summary
Medicare nationally covers attended Type I PSG and specified portable monitor types (Type II/III) as well as Type IV devices with ≥3 channels including airflow or devices with actigraphy, oximetry, and peripheral arterial tone to aid diagnosis of OSA in beneficiaries with clinical signs or symptoms. Tests not meeting these device criteria are not covered and cannot be used to justify CPAP coverage.
